De nordiska systemoperatörerna introducerade år 2020 en avhjälpande åtgärd kallad Fast Frequency Reserve (FFR) för att hantera situationer med låg rotationsenergi i det nordiska kraftsystemet. Denna upphandling syftar till att etablera ett avtal med en eller flera leverantörer som möjliggör för Svenska kraftnät att under kontraktstiden avropa den mängd FFR som behövs. Svenska kraftnäts andel för år 2027 är ännu inte fastslagen men nationellt behov av FFR uppskattas till som mest 150 MW med huvud
