<p>La Direction de l'archéologie cantonale (DAC), rattachée à la Direction générale des immeubles et du patrimoine (DGIP) de l'Etat de Vaud, est l'autorité compétente pour l'identification, la protection, la sauvegarde et la mise en valeur du patrimoine archéologique du canton (loi sur la protection du patrimoine culturel immobilier, LPrPCI; BLV 451.16). A ce titre, elle prescrit et pilote chaque année de nombreuses interventions archéologiques rendues nécessaires par des projets de construction
