The Cercs Town Council is the owner of the facilities of the CEIP Sant Salvador and the Els Barrufets Nursery School, located at Camí de Sant Jordi, 81, in the town of Sant Jordi de Cercs. The schools were built in 1979, adapting to the topography of the land, which has a significant slope. This configuration causes access to the buildings, routes between different educational spaces and courtyards to present numerous architectural barriers that hinder mobility and prevent compliance with current accessibility requirements. The actions consist of improving accessibility to the buildings of the CEIP Sant Salvador and the Els Barrufets Nursery School through the construction of new accessible routes, ramps, stairs, renovation of pavements, adaptation of accesses, improvement of outdoor spaces and the main courtyard, as well as the installation of protection and signage elements, adapting the entire complex to the Catalan Accessibility Code. The main actions planned in the project are: • Construction of a new main access to the school complex. • Execution of accessible ramps. • Renovation and reconstruction of existing stairs. • Renovation of outdoor pavements. • Improvement of accesses to the nursery, primary and nursery school buildings. • Improvement of accessible routes between buildings, courtyards, sports court and football field. • Installation of new railings, handrails and protection elements. • Improvement of garden and play areas. • General adaptation of routes to Decree 209/2023, which approves the Catalan Accessibility Code.
