Original Tender Description

West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC) is the local authority for West Oxfordshire, delivering services that support residents, businesses and visitors across the district. Further information about the Council can be found at www.westoxon.gov.uk. The Council has secured funding to deliver a comprehensive wayfinding scheme for Witney, the district's principal town. The project forms part of wider efforts to strengthen the town centre, improve connectivity between key destinations, encourage exploration, and promote Witney's unique identity. West Oxfordshire District Council is seeking the design, manufacture and installation of a suite of wayfinding signage within Witney town centre and the surrounding area. The signage network will help people navigate the town more easily, encourage walking between destinations, improve awareness of local attractions, services and amenities, and support the long-term vitality of the town centre. All materials, fixings and finishes must be selected to ensure durability, longevity and minimal ongoing maintenance requirements. Through this project, the successful supplier will support the Council's objectives of: • Strengthening the vitality and viability of Witney town centre. • Supporting local businesses by encouraging increased footfall, dwell time and visitor spending. • Improving accessibility and inclusivity for people navigating the town. • Promoting sustainable travel by encouraging walking between key destinations. • Celebrating Witney's heritage, culture and identity through high-quality placemaking and interpretation. • Delivering durable, low-maintenance public realm assets that provide long-term value for money. • Supporting the Council's wider town centre regeneration and economic development objectives.
