Original Tender Description

Somerset Council is investing in a comprehensive, evidence-based Leadership and Management Development Programme (LMDP) aiming to improve the consistency, capability, quality, and impact of people leadership across the organisation, supporting cultural alignment and improving employee experience. This follows significant organisational change, increased spans of control, and evidence from staff surveys and workforce insights showing variation in management practice and its effect on wellbeing, performance and culture. The programme aims to: • Build confident, capable and inspirational leaders • Reduce the "leadership lottery" by ensuring consistent management basics • Improve team climate, morale, and engagement through better leadership • Support organisational change and transformation • Reinforce Somerset Council's values - Work as One Team, Build Belonging, Strive for Excellence This procurement will secure an external training provider (or a consortium of providers) to design and deliver the core modular programme for leaders and managers at all levels, in conjunction with the Organisational Development & Employee Experience Team (OD&EE Team).
