Original Tender Description

This tender is to appoint a main supplier for the construction of a new one and a half storey Community Hub at Mampitts Green, Shaftesbury (SP7 8PG). Works include building construction, utilities, external areas, and landscape enhancements that improve the overall setting and public realm. The Hub is intended as a flexible, multiuse facility supporting community groups, wellbeing activities, small events, family programmes and general local services. The tender process is a below-threshold Open Procedure (single-stage). The contract will be a JCT intermediate contract with Contractor Design Portion applicable in respect of some elements. The Hub will provide a flexible, multiuser spaces suitable for community groups, wellbeing programmes, family activities, training sessions and small events. The project has been designed to ensure that it simple with a practical layout keeps construction manageable while delivering long term community benefit and value. The project supports a growing neighbourhood and provides a high profile civic facility with strong local support. The project has full planning approval P/FUL/2024/01856. It should be noted that the contract value shown is an estimate inclusive of all optional scopes and contingency allowances. As such, the council believes that tenders below this contract value are achievable.
