Original Tender Description

Child poverty in the UK has increased by 900,000 children since 2010/11. 4.5 million children now live in poverty and 1.1 million have used foodbanks within the last 12 months. Tackling child poverty is central to this government’s mission to remove barriers to opportunity and raise the healthiest generation of children ever. On 5th December 2025, the government published Our Children, Our Future: Tackling Child Poverty: https://shorturl.at/tRli9, which sets out immediate actions to reduce poverty and the long‑term foundations needed to change its trajectory. As part of the Strategy, DHSC has committed to engage with the market and wider stakeholders outside of government to better understand and explore potential opportunities for collaboration to address the health impacts of child poverty. The purpose of this notice is to announce that DHSC will be hosting a virtual roundtable event with a Q&A on 15th April 2026. The roundtable will involve a facilitated discussion on what organisations are doing, or interested in doing, to tackle the health impacts of child poverty. Please see the letter from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care inviting industry to the virtual roundtable: https://shorturl.at/r7ZWr.

Score Breakdown

Legal Compliance75/100

The tender is in a planning phase, indicated by 'Status: planning'. Deadlines are present but the overall procedure is not defined. CPV code is provided. No disputes are indicated. Regulatory compliance is assumed for a planning notice.

Clarity80/100

Missing evaluation criteria
Completeness70/100

Basic information like title, reference, organization, and description are present. The contract duration and start date are specified, though the latter is in the past relative to the submission deadline. Estimated value is not disclosed. Key documents are not available with content.

No document content available
Fairness85/100

The tender is open to 'market and wider stakeholders outside of government' and invites engagement based on interest in tackling child poverty, indicating broad accessibility. The focus is on market engagement rather than a competitive bid, which inherently has different fairness considerations. No specific company is targeted.

Practicality65/100

The tender is for market engagement, not a direct e-submission for a contract. The event is virtual. The contract start date is in the past relative to the submission deadline, which is unusual for a planning notice. Financing information is not provided.

No e-submission (as it's market engagement)
Contract start date precedes submission deadline
Data Consistency90/100

Key fields such as title, reference, organization, and CPV are populated. There are no reported disputes. The dates provided (contract start, submission deadline, event date) are logical within the context of a planning notice, although the contract start date is unusual.

Sustainability50/100

There is no explicit mention of green procurement, social aspects beyond the core topic, or innovation within the tender description. The focus is solely on addressing child poverty's health impacts.

Not green procurement
No social criteria (beyond core topic)

Strengths
