Original Tender Description

This research project, aligned with the FSA Strategy 2022-2027, focuses on food safety by assessing chemical mixtures using in-silico and in-vitro New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). It aims to protect consumers from chemical hazards and empower informed food choices. The project is part of the Chemical, Radiological and Allergy (Food Hypersensitivity) Research and Evidence Programme (ChemRA REP), addressing research priority two: chemical, radiological, and food hypersensitivity risks. The main aim is to conduct research on chemicals in food and feed, aligning with the FSA's Area of Research Interest on novel approach methods for hazard assessment. The goal is to use NAMs to assess hazards from chemical mixtures in food and their impact on consumers, developing cross-government collaboration and enhancing scientific capability.
