Original Tender Description

The General Dental Council (GDC) invites tenders for the provision of impartial, expert, and robust health and medical assessments, toxicology testing, and expert witness services to support its Fitness to Practise (FtP) regulatory functions. The Supplier will provide medical assessments, psychiatric assessments, toxicology testing (hair and blood), Civil Procedure Rules‐compliant expert reports, and attendance where required at Practice Committee hearings as expert witnesses. Assessments will be required to support decision making throughout the FTP process The service must be delivered UK‐wide, with consistent standards, timely reporting, secure handling of personal/sensitive data, and clinical expertise capable of supporting regulatory decision‐making. The Supplier will be required to provide medical assessments and access to a range of medical examiners/assessors and expert witnesses including: -Psychiatrists-Clinical Psychologists -General Practitioners (GP) -Occupational Health Practitioners The Supplier will be required to provide toxicology testing including: -Hair and blood testing for Alcohol -Hair and blood testing for drugs. -In person collection of samples to ensure continuity of evidence and identification of the dental professional at the point of collection, -Analysis and interpretation of results.
