Original Tender Description

Community Equipment Services (CES) is operated by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) and provides community health and social care related equipment delivery, installation, collection, repair and maintenance to Solihull residents, both adults and children and is commissioned by Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (ICB) across this locality. The service enables individuals to maintain independence, maximise wellbeing, and remain safely within their own home for as long as possible. CES supplies a wide range of equipment, including hoists, slings, mobility equipment, movement aids, and equipment to support with community, independent daily living. While CES delivers, installs and collects equipment directly, the service has a limited in-house maintenance and repair function. This specification sets out the requirements for a contracted provider to deliver planned maintenance, statutory inspections, reactive repairs, and associated technical support. The contract will ensure that equipment remains safe, reliable, compliant with statutory requirements, and always fit for purpose.
