Original Tender Description

The purpose of this commission is to seek the appointment of a specialist engineering contractor to provide Early Contractor Involvement and design of the slope stabilisation measures and variable messaging sign (VMS) foundation and superstructure, followed by the implementation of the design of the , Rockfall containment netting adjacent to the West bound carriageway of the A59 Kingsway Tunnel approach road between Mill Lane Bridge and Breck Road Bridge, together with the installation of the VMS foundation and superstructure and the associated power and data connections. In addition, remedial works to the existing drapery mesh to the inbound carriageway adjacent to Breck road. Services will include, but not be limited to: • Early contractor involvement/assessment/advice • Identification and procurement of any additional surveys required to complete the design • Design of the works to the outbound and inbound embankment as set out in this document and the VMS foundation and superstructure • Surveys and inspections associated with the design of the above elements • Support party wall surveyor in developing any necessary agreements with owners of adjacent properties • Vegetation clearance from the embankment • Provision of access for engineer inspection of embankment (as required) • Rock scaling works (as required) • Installation of slope stabilisation measures (Drapery mesh) • Support party wall surveyor in agreeing any necessary agreements with owners of adjacent properties
