Original Tender Description

Bridgend County Borough Council wishes to invite suitably experienced and regulated care providers to Tender for the provision of domiciliary care at Llys Ton Extra Care in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend. The commencement date will be 01 June 2026 on an initial 3-year contract with provision to extend up to a further 36 months at 12-month intervals. This is a community based supported accommodation model with 39 purpose built self-contained flats comprising of 8 single and 31 two-bedroom properties, which supports a preventive and reablement agenda, in-line with the wellbeing initiatives as identified within Welsh Government policies and the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014. The aim of the service is to enable people to ‘live the best life they want to live’ in an environment where the service is the enabler, and the people are the changers. Supporting independence within the person’s home – to increase the range of options for self-support and targeted assistance to build on their strengths and maintain or improve their quality of life. A fundamental principle is an emphasis on voice, choice, and control to maximise outcomes. The successful provider must share this vision and work in partnership with the Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and the local authority, to connect and integrate individuals within their local community to access a range of facilities. Extra Care takes into consideration specialist requirements for people who may be presenting with other care and support needs including cognitive decline and sensory impairment.
