ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS2

TECHNICAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS27

--Provision of a managed temporary grass rest solution for Military Working Horses (MWHs).

--Delivery of associated animal enrichment.

--Ability to provide up to 3000 grazing days within 60 minutes of Hyde Park Barracks for short respite periods.

--Personnel employed must have knowledge, skills, and experience in animal husbandry support for MWHs.

--Contracted support personnel must have commensurate qualifications aligned with approved governing bodies.

--All contracted workers must be qualified to British Horse Society Stage 2 ride and care standard, or equivalent riding and care ability (with proof).

--Ability to maintain and securely store MWH records (passports).

--Adherence to UK Government information sharing guidance.

--Provision and maintenance of a facility enabling the operation of a closed herd, where all horses on site have been subject to strangles screening and received appropriate vaccinations in accordance with the British Horse Racing Authority.

--Ability to provide access to daily paddock turnout when required.

--Allocation of adequate grazing (minimum of 0.6 acres per MWH in summer, and 1 acre in Winter) when MWHs are on scheduled grass rest.

--Provision of supplementary feeding when required.

--Ability to turn horses out in small groups of two or four on a daily/medium term basis, either shod or unshod.

--Provision of feed and water for MWHs in accordance with their respective needs.

--Provision of an MOD approved mixture of hard feed, associated supplements, and hay/haylage daily.

--Provision of sufficient workforce for daily grooming of all HCMR MWHs to an agreed standard (free from sweat and saddlery marks, quartered, groomed, and set fair daily).

--Routine trimming, clipping, mane and tail pulling of all HCMR MWHs as required.

--MWHs to be at a parade ready standard at all times when in full-time work.

--Availability for veterinary supervision and checks on demand.

--Provision of all grooming equipment, tail bandages for daily post-exercise use, mane and tail spray, fly spray, hoof oil etc.

--Provision of workforce to assist in the presentation of MWHs for veterinary inspection and administration of treatments.

--Responsibility for the maintenance of an individual feeding plan for all HCMR MWHs (as per Saracens / HCMR feed scales) in consultation with the RVO.

--Preparation of all feeds and administration of approved oral medication as directed by the RVO.

--Maintenance of MWH condition body score at 3.5, with minor variation permitted by horse.

--Maintenance of an HCMR MWH weight record.

--Provision of a suitable area for MWHs to be shod, have foot trims, dental reviews, and associated veterinary treatments.

--Provision of on-site security commensurate with that of a military establishment, including a preferred entry-controlled system, CCTV coverage, and onsite groom/veterinary provision for 24/7 welfare assurance.

--Estimated total value (Inc VAT): £400,500.00

--Contract value of £333,750.00 over a term of 6 months once a year over a 5-year period.
