Meals on Wheels Service

The service The service will deliver a choice of suitable, nutritious hot lunchtime meals to adults who are at risk of malnutrition and live within Hampshire County Council's (HCC's) geographical jurisdiction. The service will be available 365 days a year. Afternoon tea will also be delivered if requested. A health and well-being check will be carried out during every delivery. The majority of customers in receipt of the service pay for their meals themselves. Open tender published Autumn 2022 The tender was to procure a nil subsidy service contract for a Meals on Wheels service. The service would be cost neutral to HCC, with the provider holding financial liability and being responsible for payment collection from customers. The tender did not receive any bids. Direct award 2023 Following the failure of the open tender published in the Autumn of 2022, and the issue of a Find a Tender notice which notified the public of the failed tender, discussions were held with several providers to establish if they would be able to run the service. The provider, HILS, were the only provider to confirm that they would consider the contract.
