Food Waste Treatment Services

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking tenders for the provision and operation of a food waste (Contract Waste) treatment service. Bidders will be required to provide treatment of food waste and a bulking and haulage service (if the treatment facility is located outside Gloucestershire.); the use of subcontractors is acceptable for any part of the service. Gloucestershire County Council may choose to direct WCAs to direct deliver food waste to the treatment or bulking point, or may make its own arrangements for local bulking and haulage to the treatment or bulking point from local WCAs depots if it is more economical to do so. This decision will be determined by factors of distance and cost. A single contract will be awarded for the treatment of all food waste collected and delivered from each District Council. The contract will be for a period of eight (8) years with the option to extend for any period up to a further two (2) years. The contract commencement date shall be 1 October 2021.
