Rådet har til hensigt at indhente hovedentreprenøren til Westgate Village-udviklingen. Projektets og udviklingsområdets areal omfatter den tidligere Co-op-grund og ejendom med de nedrevne bygninger, med undtagelse af den bevarede facade og en delvis bygning ud mod Spital Street; dette udvides med henblik på byggetilladelsesansøgningen til at omfatte Orchard Street og den offentlige vej i Spital Street, hvor der foreslås forbedringer og ændringer af den vedtagne vej. Rådet erhvervede grunden og ejendommen fra Homes England i juni 2022 og i 2023, efter en konkurrenceproces, udpegede Peter Barber Architects til at udarbejde en feasibility-undersøgelse for at undersøge de tilgængelige muligheder for arealanvendelse.
