Connectiviteitsdoelstellingen onder het 'Digital Decade'-programma vereisen gigabitdekking en 5G-dekking in bevolkte gebieden, wat aanzienlijke inkoopactiviteiten op nationaal en regionaal niveau genereert.
Leveranciers in deze sector moeten voorbereid zijn op strikte technische specificaties, normen voor elektromagnetische compatibiliteit en cybersecurity-vereisten voor kritieke infrastructuur. Veel aanbestedingen vereisen apparatuurcertificering volgens specifieke normen van het Telecommunications Standards Institute. Leveranciers die end-to-end oplossingen aanbieden, inclusief installatie, inbedrijfstelling en doorlopende ondersteuning, hebben vaak de voorkeur.
