DHSC: ASC: Adult Social Care Support & Improvement Governance and Infrastructure

• Enabling local authorities to lead their own improvement, by: <br/>o Facilitating sector-led improvement and peer to peer challenge and support <br/>o Supporting LAs to make best use of the national improvement programme; help to target resources to where they are most needed <br/>o Providing expert leadership support to lead members for adult social care and Directors of Adult Social Services (DASSs) – of which there is no equivalent organisation <br/>• Enabling DHSC to understand what’s working well and what isn’t in the sector and help do something about it, by: <br/>o Facilitating two-way communication between DHSC and LAs <br/>o Advising on live operational challenges to inform national policy and system design, reform implementation and review <br/>o Collaborating with DHSC to target help to where it is most needed.
